Transfer from Gatwick to Stansted by car is probably most comfortable and hassle free way to get there. These two airports are far away from each other. One is located South from the city while the other North East. There is no easy way to get to Stansted by train. You would have to use train then switch to tube and again to train, which is not only uncomfortable, but first of all- time consuming. It's over 70 miles, so about 110 kilometers to get there by road. The good news is it is all motorway drive, and it shouldn't take longer than about 1:20 - 2:00 hours to get from one to the other.

Many customers choose Stansted due to inexpensive continental flights with some of the major 'cheap airline' players. The airport is welcoming but some of the gates are far away. This is why you should provide yourself with plenty of time for the transfer journey itself.
